GM Renaissance CenterAn REI principal played an integral leadership role as lead project manager and Director of Leasing for the $1 billion renovation of the 6,000,000 sf GM Renaissance Center and River East Center Complex (collectively, Towers 100-600). This project was at the time of its redevelopment the largest renovation of an occupied structure anywhere in the world – and one of the largest in world history. The enormous scope of the work necessitated a comprehensive redefinition of the project management function at the site.

• The assignment consisted a series of interlocking multimillion dollar projects including a complete multi tower office renovation, road infrastructure improvements, central plant replacement, outdoor public event space, riparian edge reconstruction, retail construction, renovation of a 72 story hotel and much more. Each component involved dozens of sourcing events.
• Negotiated and drafted legal documents for commercial property acquisitions, dispositions, partnership agreements, termination agreements, construction contracts and other real property transactions.
• Led the successful acquisition of the 650,000 square foot River East Center (Towers 500 & 600). Directed all sourcing, underwriting, due diligence, closing and re-development activities.
